Why illustration?

A hand drawn sketch can turn an idea or vague concept into a tangible space or building. A line drawing or 3D illustration can transform a CAD drawn plan or elevation into a space that can be easily understood and imagined by a client.

My experience working both as an architect and an illustrator has taught me that an illustration can instantly engage the viewer, humanising a building or place. Whilst at the same time adding context, history as well as a material likeness.

My previous illustrations have assisted with planning permissions at the early stages, helping to bring a vague concept to life as well as producing a detailed visual of what a finished project will look and feel like.
